We remove failed cavity wall insulation across Liverpool and Merseyside, covering Sefton, Liverpool, Knowsley, St Helens, Widnes in Halton and the Wirral. Choose your area below for local information, or call 07777 659786 if your town is not listed.

Our cavity wall insulation removal service in Liverpool works across a wide mix of housing, from inter-war semis to 1960s to 1990s estates. Weather matters as much as house type: walls facing the prevailing south-westerly wind off the Irish Sea, especially near the coast and on the Wirral peninsula, take the most wind-driven rain and are often where wet cavity fill shows up first.

Sefton

Sefton runs along the coast north of Liverpool, and many homes here face open weather from the sea.

Liverpool

South and east Liverpool has plenty of inter-war and post-war brick semis with cavity walls, many of which were filled under past schemes. Older terraces nearer the centre are often solid-walled and have no cavity to fill.

Knowsley

Knowsley’s towns include a lot of post-war and later estate housing with cavity walls.

St Helens

We cover cavity wall insulation removal in St Helens (WA9, WA10, WA11), including the surrounding suburbs and estates.

Halton (Widnes)

East of Liverpool along the Mersey, we also work in Widnes (WA8).

Wirral

The Wirral peninsula has water on three sides, and exposed elevations here are a common place to find wet cavity insulation.

Does every home in these areas have a cavity?

Not always. Across Merseyside you will find Victorian and Edwardian terraces with solid brick walls, laid with headers (the short ends of bricks) showing in the pattern. Those walls have no cavity, so there is nothing to extract, and damp in them has other causes. Most houses built from the 1920s onwards have cavity walls, usually with only the long faces of the bricks showing. Small, regularly spaced filled holes in the mortar joints are a common sign that a cavity was insulated at some point. If you are unsure what you have, describe the house when you call or send a photo of the outside wall, and we can usually tell you whether a visit is worthwhile.

Other places we may cover

These pages are not a complete list. We may also be able to help in nearby places such as Litherland, Netherton, Halewood, Rainhill, West Kirby and Bromborough on request. Call us and tell us where you are, and we will let you know.

What happens wherever you are

The process is the same in every area. We call you back to ask about the property and the damp, then visit to take moisture readings and look inside the cavity with a borescope. We explain what we found, including when removal is not the right answer, and give a written quote. If extraction goes ahead, we check the cavity again afterwards and give you a written report with photos.
